Institute of Mosaic Art is located at the corner of Chapman and Derby Streets in the Jingletown Arts district of Oakland, California.
We are located right off the 880 Freeway and about 5 miles from the Oakland Airport. Our studio is easily accessed by BART, the subway/elevated train. The closest BART station is Fruitvale, which is about a 10 minute walk to the Studio.
Institute of Mosaic Art has a corporate account at the Executive Suites Inn. Mention that you are with IMA and you will receive a group discount on your room. Executive Suites Inn has a free shuttle which will take guests to places within a 5-mile radius, which means students can get dropped off and picked up at IMA!
For students planning on renting a car or for those who want closer proximity to amenities such as restaurants, movies and shops, students can try hotels in the Jack London Square area, which is less than a 10 minute drive to the Studio. There is also an Amtrak station in Jack London Square.
