Solo Exhibition: Barbara Burgess — Food Art Mosaics

Mosaic by Laurel Skye
February 3 - April 4th, 2010
A graphic look at America's favorite foods.

Mosaic artist Barbara Burgess is a retired illustrator and graphic designer who graduated from California College of Arts and Crafts.

She has melded her two passions together to create her unique food-themed mosaics. In the past 30 years Barbara has been influenced by dance posters from the 60's, Wayne Tiebald's paintings and the fabulous posters of David Lance Goines. She believes in the importance of story telling in art and agrees with the motto "a picture is worth a thousand words".
