Mosaic Pet Portrait Invitational at Institute of Mosaic Art Curated by Delaine Hackney

Call For Mosaic Pet Portraits

We are excited to be hosting another Mosaic Pet Portrait show at IMA. The exhibition will run through the months of June and July 2008 and will be open to mosaic artists of all levels who have a mosaic pet portrait they would like to exhibit. Beginners and accomplished mosaic artists alike are encouraged to submit works. The space and number of pieces is however limited and if necessary, we will give preference to artists with portraits that were created in Mosaic Pet Portrait class at IMA.

A special section of the exhibit will be dedicated to celebrate pets that have passed on.

This exhibit will coincide with East Bay Open Studios.

ALL POTENTIAL EXHIBITORS MUST RSVP to Delaine@mosaicstudiosupply.com and include images of work to be considered for exhibition with corresponding information.

This is not a juried exhibit but space is limited.

Art work may be dropped off at IMA (during business hours) between the dates of Wednesday, May 28th and Sunday, June 1st . No late work can be accepted.

Out of area work may be shipped to Institute of Mosaic Art, 3001 Chapman St, Oakland CA 94601.

Art work must be rigged for hanging and also labeled on the back with the following information:
Artist's name
Title of piece
Year created
Materials used
Selling price (or NFS)

Weight limit is 40# for wall work. Improperly or unsafely rigged pieces will not be accepted.

Institute of Mosaic Art will take a 40% commission of all work sold and donate 10% to local pet rescue groups. Exhibitors, please consider having your work for sale!

We'll be planning a dog friendly reception to celebrate the art and subjects on Saturday, June 7th from 5 -7 pm. There's talk of live music to howl along to and perhaps a doggy costume contest?
