Brilliant color, and rich, reflective materials - Glass mosaics are irresistible. Learn the ins and outs of glass mosaics and how to create your own shimmering glass mosaic art work!
An in-depth introduction, this class covers important techniques, materials, tools, and design approaches needed to create glass mosaic art. Learn how to use specialized tools to score, cut, and shape glass for mosaics, and what types of glass can be used in a variety of applications. Glass mosaic design, setting and grouting techniques are demonstrated; and time-tested adhesives, substrates and applications for glass mosaics are presented. Students create their own glass mosaic on the first day of class, and are guided through all stages of grouting their art work on the second day.
Students create an 11" x 11" glass mosaic to take home for interior display.
